Hi. I need an explanation and listing of Tier 1 and Tier 2 rides in Animal Kingdom......Suggestions would be extremely useful as I am bringing 3 grandchildren ages 9, 7, 4. NONE like roller coasters. Fast Pass sign up in 5 days....what rides do you suggest

    Hi Shelly,

Thanks for checking in with us! We're happy to help as you plan a magical visit with your grandchildren to Animal Kingdom.

FastPass+ reservations at Animal Kingdom are divided into two tiers. In advance of your visit, you can choose one FastPass from the top tier and two from the second. The only attractions in Tier 1 are Avatar Flight of Passage and Na'vi River Journey, both in Pandora -- The World of Avatar. Since some of your grandchildren probably won't meet the 44-inch height requirement for the thrilling Avatar Flight of Passage, Na'vi River is the easy choice for you.

I would definitely recommend Kilimanjaro Safaris for one of your other FastPass+ recommendations. The trip through the Harambe Wildlife Reserve is a highlight of Animal Kingdom and a treat for all ages.

The third choice is a little harder. I would go with either Finding Nemo -- The Musical or Festival of the Lion King. Both are fabulous Broadway-style shows that bring the classic Disney characters to life. It really depends on your grandchildren's preferences.

Or, if meeting Disney characters is key for your grandchildren, you can select a FastPass to meet Mickey and Minnie.

Once you have used all three of your advance FastPasses, Shelly, you can use the My Disney Experience app on your phone or visit a FastPass kiosk to add another, based on availability.

Many of the experiences that appeal to children at Animal Kingdom are easily accessible without a FastPass. Make sure you check out Conservation Station, The Boneyard, Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail and Marharajah Jungle Trek

I hope that's helpful. Please let us know if you have other questions about planning your visit. Enjoy!
