Hi there and welcome to planDisney, Jennifer. Thanks for stopping by to share your question with us. It sounds like a visit to the Disneyland Resort is in the works and I'm so excited for you.
While names are requested at the time of purchasing your theme park tickets, they are mostly to help with organizing and managing tickets for your visit. When a ticket is scanned for entry, the Cast Member will take a picture of the person who will be using the ticket. This will serve as the ticket holder identification during your visit. In fact, in the past, I purchased a ticket for my husband and forgot to change the name to his (oops). We were still able to use the ticket for him without making any changes and without any issues. All this aside, if it's still helpful to have the name changed, you can reach out to a friendly Cast Member at the
Tickets phone line for assistance.
Now that we have that squared away, it's time to start thinking about all of the wonderful things you will do during your time at the Happiest Place on Earth. There are so many new things at the resort. One of my favorite new places to visit is
San Fransokyo Square in Disney California Adventure Park. If you haven't had the chance to check it out yet, I highly recommend it. I love all of the new food available and it's hard to beat getting a squishy hug and fist bump from Baymax himself.
Be sure to also download the
Disneyland app for your visit. I use this handy tool for all of my visits to the Disneyland Resort. Inside you will find a map of the resort, attraction wait times and (my favorite) the feature to
mobile order food and beverage. I'll even set up a mobile order while I'm making my way to the parks and then head directly to pick up my order after I've entered the park. That's what I call magical!
Well, Jennifer, I hope this helps as you are getting ready for your magical visit. Please come back to share any other questions you might be curious about. Until then, I wish you happy planning!
