Hi Roxanne! Welcome to planDisney!
Greetings from across the Atlantic! I'm happy to have you stop by with your question. One of my favorite things to do at Walt Disney World is to watch the nighttime spectaculars at two of the theme parks. Disney Enchantment is performed daily at the
Magic Kingdom while Harmonious is shown at
EPCOT. The only time that either show is not performed is when there is a special event happening at that park that requires it to close early or the weather causes it to be canceled.
Depending on when your visit is happening, a special event may be the reason why there are no fireworks on the Sunday of your visit.
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party begins in mid-August and extends until the end of October. On the nights that the party is scheduled for, the firework show is typically not shown since there are special experiences taking place for Guests of the party. Unfortunately, the member of your party will not be able to visit on a separate evening to watch the firework show. She would need a separate ticket for that date to enter the parks. I would suggest visiting the Magic Kingdom on a different day so it does not coincide with a special event date.
With this said, there are other ways to view the firework show at either park. For Disney Enchantment, you can visit
Disney's Contemporary Resort and dine at California Grill which overlooks the Magic Kingdom. If you time your reservation right, you can watch the firework show from the top of this resort during dinner.
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort also has a spectacular viewing area of the fireworks on the beachfront located at the back of the resort. You can find a seat in the sand and watch the fireworks show over the lake as the music is piped in over the speakers.
To see Harmonious without a park ticket or reservation, I suggest heading over to
Disney's Boardwalk and hanging out there until the start of the show. Depending on where you stand, you should get a decent view of the fireworks from here. But the best way to watch Harmonious is to charter a private watercraft that will take you over to the World Showcase Lagoon. Here you will have an amazing view of the entire show, including the projections and music. I highly recommend considering this option for a group of people.
Roxanne, I hope this information helps you during your upcoming visit!
