Hiya Ali, welcome to planDisney!
If you ask me, no Walt Disney World Resort vacation is complete without a stop at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Whether sitting down for some Tonga Toast at the recently reopened
Kona Cafe or enjoying a
DOLE Whip with a view of Cinderella Castle, it's one of my absolute favorite places to be.
Guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel can make advance reservations for dining
online 60 days in advance for their entire length of stay (up to 10 days). All other Guests can book as each day reaches the 60-day mark. As you've likely experienced, character dining experiences are extremely popular and it can be especially tough to find reservations for large parties. My best tip for booking an
'Ohana breakfast is to break your party up into smaller groups (three groups of four, two groups of six, etc) and check for reservation availability daily. Reservation availability changes in real time as Guests are constantly reimagining their Disney days. Grab any reservation that pops up between now and your travel dates and it couldn't hurt to wish upon a star. You'll need the help of other adults with
My Disney Experience accounts to assist with your magical mission because one person can't book multiple, overlapping dining reservations. If you can stay flexible, I find that the greatest availability opens up two or three days before any given dining date.
If your travel dates arrive and you haven't been able to secure 'Ohana reservations for your party of 12, Ali, my next tip is to show up as soon as the restaurant opens and ask to join the walk-up list. You can also be at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and use your
My Disney Experience mobile app to join the
Mobile Dine Walk-Up List (search "'Ohana" and click "Join Walk-Up List.") There's no guarantee you'll be seated, but this is how I recently enjoyed a birthday breakfast with Mickey at
Topolino's Terrace.
Stitch is my daughter's favorite character right now so an 'Ohana breakfast for my party of six was a top priority during our most recent visit. I made our 'Ohana breakfast reservation for the last morning of our trip thanks to the Disney Resort hotel advantage. Only visits with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto could peel me away from our breathtaking view of Cinderella Castle and that amazing pineapple-coconut bread. If you forget your autograph book, no worries, you'll be given a postcard keepsake to take home.
If you need help brainstorming any other solutions for your upcoming visit, Ali, please don't hesitate to
reach out.
Plan magic; planDisney.
