Welcome, Sharon!
I’m so excited to hear about your vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth!
For quite a few years I experienced some
dietary sensitivities and became well-acquainted with the plant-based menus at Disney World. I can say that I am amazed at the extensive plant-based and allergy-friendly food options that the theme parks and resort hotels have at their dining locations. Some of the plant-based options are still some of my very favorite dishes!
I cannot recommend
Satu’li Canteen at Animal Kingdom enough! This Quick-Service location is home to one of my favorite dishes — the Chili-Spiced Crispy Fried Tofu Bowl! They also have this dish available on their gluten/wheat allergy-friendly menu!
Sharon, I’m happy to report that most Table Service and select Quick Service restaurants have allergy-friendly and plant-based options on their menus. These menus are also available online — making it really convenient for you to explore dining options that will meet all of the requirements you have. The easiest way for you to view the
plant-based and allergy-friendly options is to head to your My Disney Experience App, tap the location icon (it kind of looks like this “⚲”) at the bottom of the screen, select the “Filter” option, select the location for which you’d like to browse dining options, then tap “Show List” in the upper righthand corner. From there, tap the dining location that interests you, then select the blue “View Menu” option. If you scroll, you’ll see both plant-based and allergy-friendly menu items. (If there are no options that meet your plant-based and gluten-free needs together, try selecting another location. You can also speak to a Cast Member at that location when you arrive if you’d like clarification, or to see if you can modify a menu item to meet both of your needs. Some dining locations can take these special requests. The teams at these restaurants will always do their very best to make your food as magical and tummy-friendly as possible!)
While you will find that some snack locations have a more limited menu when it comes to your dietary needs, there are still snacks that should align with your particular set of dietary specifications. (Aloha Isle at Magic Kingdom would be a great place for you to get a DOLE Whip Cup or Float! This sweet treat is both plant-based and gluten-free!) You are also more than welcome to bring snacks into the parks with you. I like having a few things ready for me and my family!
Here are 2 more locations that you should consider visiting! There is a hidden gem in EPCOT called
Garden Grill. This rotating restaurant not only has Disney Characters coming to meet and greet with you throughout your meal — it also hosts a FABULOUS plant-based AND gluten-free menu… Did I mention it’s family style?! Think about making a reservation for this Table Service meal!
In Hollywood Studios, for a Quick Service option, I highly recommend the Felucian Falafel and Hummus Garden Spread from
Docking Bay 7. They have a gluten/wheat allergy-friendly option for this item that is out-of-this-world!
If you have more questions on particular restaurants or other food around the parks, we’d LOVE to help you further, Sharon! You have a team of supporters at planDisney.
Have a great big beautiful tomorrow!
