Hi Kim!
Welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you stopped by with your question. Planning a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth is always exciting, and making sure every member of your family can enjoy the magic comfortably is so important. The Disneyland Resort strives to make the pixie dust accessible for all Guests, so let's take a look at how the
Disability Access Service (DAS) Pass works.
DAS supports Guests who may be unable to wait in a traditional queue for extended periods of time due to a developmental disability. Guests who are approved for DAS can book return times for attractions, one at a time, that are equivalent to the current wait time. This allows them to be out and about in the parks while they wait instead of standing in a queue. The first step is to determine eligibility via
Live Chat on the website or at the resort at the Accessibility Service Kiosk in the Esplanade. Since you are still a few days out, I'd recommend trying the
Live Chat to hopefully have your plans sorted ahead of your arrival. During this process, the Guest applying for DAS must be present, and the Cast Member will have a conversation with you and your child to determine if DAS is approved.
If your child is approved for DAS, you will then enter the registration process. One helpful tip to prepare for your Live Chat is to already have the theme park tickets for your full party linked to the same account as the DAS pass. Once you enter the parks, you will be able to make your
first return time for select attractions. When you head into your Disneyland App and tap the three-line icon at the bottom right-hand corner, you will see a DAS tile. A DAS party can include the approved Guest and up to 3 additional Guests. You will be able to make your next return time selection 10 minutes after you tap into the first one.
I hope we've set you up for a successful day in the parks, Kim! If you have any questions ahead of time, I recommend reaching out to
Guest Services. If questions pop up when you are on the ground, head to the
Accessibility Service Kiosk - the Cast Members will be happy to assist! I also like to recommend taking a look at the
Entertainment Schedule as you make your way to the parks. This will allow you to earmark any must-see shows or nighttime entertainment, and will also give you a heads-up on what you might run into during your day.
Wishing you a magical visit! If you have any more questions or need another tip or two, we are always here for you at
planDisney.
