Hi Andrea,
Thanks for dropping by planDisney with a question!
This is an interesting planning question. If your flights are fully refundable and/or flexible, I would probably first check room availability with the Walt Disney World® Resort. Find a few date options and then check flight availability and prices for those new dates. If your flights are not fully refundable and/or you might have to pay the difference in fare if you change flights, I would check flight options first.
I like to check Disney Resorts Collection hotel
availability online so that I can compare pricing and options. Also remember to check the
Special Offers to see if there is an offer applicable to the new dates of your visit. I had to change the dates of a trip recently. First, I modified our resort hotel. Since we are Disney Vacation Club members, I had to submit a waitlist request for the new dates. Once I had a room for my new dates, I started checking prices for new flights. Initially, flights were quite expensive, but I kept checking and the price finally went down one day, so I had to pay only a slight difference in price for the flights.
Be sure to check the
2024 Website Package Terms & Conditions to see the cancellation guidance for vacation packages and resort hotel rooms. Just be sure to cancel within the allowable time frame so that you can avoid additional penalties. If you booked through a travel agent or third party vendor, you will need to contact your travel agent or third party vendor to get help with modifying or cancelling that reservation.
Andrea, I do hope you are able to modify your trip! Remember to cancel or modify any
advanced dining reservations as well. You will need to cancel or modify those separately. Sending a little extra pixie dust hoping you find new dates that work!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
