Hello there, Megan. A warm welcome from us at planDisney. Thanks for bringing us your question. I've definitely been in this same situation and am happy to provide some guidance for your visit.
I love that you've searched the site for previous answers and you're absolutely correct. This is still the case that the name does not need to match the person using the ticket. Before you enter the park, each person's picture will be taken by a Cast Member which will appear as verification every time the ticket is scanned at the turnstiles. So there's no need to update or change the name on the ticket. I've done this in the past and have had no issues. As a matter of fact, I recently purchased a ticket for my husband using my Disney account and forgot to change the name on the ticket to his. I won't change the name on the ticket and when we arrive for our upcoming visit, his picture will be taken and used as verification throughout our visit. If it gives you more peace of mind to update and change the name, you can reach out to a
Cast Member for assistance with Tickets.
It's a magical time to visit the Disneyland Resort with the festivities of the
Disney100 Celebration. I've enjoyed the two new nighttime spectaculars (
Wondrous Journeys was my favorite) and many
delicious treats. I also recommend downloading the Disneyland app upon your arrival - there's a guide to the Disney100 Celebration festivities that I found helpful during my last visit.
I hope this has been helpful and given you some peace of mind, Megan. If you have other questions as you continue to plan, please come back to ask us -
even write me directly. Until then, happy planning!
Wishing you a magical visit,
Michelle
