Hey there, Tonya! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your ticket question. Let's get you an answer!
I'm sorry to hear that someone in your party can no longer make it. What a bummer! The good news is it's not a problem for someone else to use that ticket in his place. If you want to change the name of the ticket holder, you will have to call
Ticket Services and have them change the name. I will let you know that it isn't actually necessary to have the name on the ticket changed unless the ticket is the
California Resident Ticket Offer then it may be a good idea to have the name match since an ID will be needed to verify residency at the gate. With a standard ticket though, the ticket is not assigned so someone officially until they scan the ticket for the first time at the gate and a Cast Member will then take your picture. That is when the ticket is assigned to you. The name on the ticket in the app or on your Disney account is more just for you to be able to distinguish whose ticket is whose.
For this new Guest who is taking the ticket, I suggest that they download the
Disneyland app and you give them the ticket ID number so they can link that ticket to their Disney account and use the Disneyland app to scan into the park and manage their ticket for things like
Disney Genie + if they choose to purchase that.
Tonya, I hope this information is helpful and that you and your group have the most magical time at Disneyland Resort. See you real soon!
Carrie
