Greetings, Matthew, and welcome to planDisney! Your Disneyland Resort visit is just around the corner – can you already smell the popcorn and hear the Disneyland Band? Let's make sure you're all set for a smooth arrival.
Matthew, a theme park ticket isn’t officially assigned until it’s used to enter the park. At that point, a Cast Member will take a photo of the Guest and link it to their ticket. That photo is used for verification when re-entering the park, rather than the name on the ticket. You don't typically need to update the name on a standard theme park ticket unless it's your preference to do so.
As the original ticket purchaser, you can update the name on a ticket by
calling the Tickets phone line or using the
Disneyland mobile app. In the app, tap the icon with the three lines (☰) and scroll down to the "Chat with Us" option. Please note that, once a ticket has been used, the name can't be changed. Also, residency-based special offer tickets will require each Guest to show a government-issued photo ID to confirm eligible residency.
Just so you know, Matthew, the theme park reservation is a little different. This is what's tied to your ticket to dictate which date you go and the park you will visit (or start at if you have a
Park Hopper ticket). If you are looking to update that, you can visit the
Theme Park Tickets & Reservations page on the Disneyland website or use the app.
I hope this information has been helpful to you, Matthew! If you have any other questions, please reach out.
As Mickey would say, “See ya real soon!”
