Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Esther!
There are now multiple options to suit your preferences and needs for handling
tickets while visiting the Disneyland Resort. You are welcome to have all your park tickets scanned into one account on the
Disneyland app to use for both park admission and
Disney FASTPASS redemption. Many guests find it easy for one person to present the first ticket on their mobile device and then quickly swipe the screen to advance to the next ticket and so forth. It's a particularly natural fit when utilizing
Disney MaxPass in the parks.
As much as I love technology, I actually do prefer to continue to use our paper tickets at the park entrances and at FASTPASS return scanners. Ever since our family took our first
Disney Cruise Line cruise, we got into the habit of each member of the family having their own lanyard to carry their key card. With adorable
Disney-themed lanyards to match the unique interests of each family member, it was natural to bring them along with us to our regular Disneyland Resort vacations as well.
I happen to like using the lanyards because they keep the tickets accessible without needing to fumble around our bag to find the mobile device. Or if we are in the middle of using the app for creating a
Mobile Food and Beverage Order, or playing a game on the
Play Disney Parks app, we don't have to switch between activities in the device to redeem a FASTPASS when we use the tickets on the lanyards. Since we are a large family, we also tend to split up between multiple entrance turnstiles or between multiple FASTPASS scanners so that we can all get through even quicker. For the case of our youngest child, we were worried she might accidentally lose her lanyard. So we opted to keep her ticket in the pouch on the lanyard that my wife wears. She simply scans one ticket, then flips it over to scan the other.
Whether you wish to use the Disneyland app or the physical tickets is really up to you. Even if you use MaxPass on a mobile device to make FASTPASS reservations, you may still choose to use your printed tickets to redeem those reservations.
Have a magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, Esther! Please come back with any additional questions you may have.
