Welcome to planDisney, Courtney.
Oh bother! I'm ever so sorry to hear that you have to make the not-so-magical decision to cancel your trip to
Walt Disney World. As Remy from Ratatouille once said, "The only thing predictable about life is its unpredictability." Rest assured, Mickey and his friends aren't going anywhere. They'll give you an extra big hug when you're finally able to visit.
To cancel your trip, Courtney, you're going to need to call the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservation team. You'll be able to speak to a friendly Cast Member who can give you the help you need.
Although any policy is subject to change, the
Walt Disney World cancelation policy currently states that if you cancel a Disney Resort Hotel Package 30 days or more prior to your arrival, you should expect to receive a full refund. However, if you cancel 29 days to 2 days before your arrival date you will receive a full refund, minus a $200 penalty per room. This includes any Theme Park tickets you've purchased with your room and ticket package. If you wait to cancel until 1 day or less before your visit then the full package is not refundable. Depending on the exact package you booked (for example, if you booked a third-party hotel), there might be some other cancelation fees that are applicable.
As Ursula says, "Life's full of tough choices, isn't it?" Hopefully you'll be able to reschedule another trip soon, Courtney. "When life gets you down, you know what you gotta do? Just keep swimming."
See ya real soon!
Mike
