Need Canadian advice:-) Due to roaming charges, we do not bring our phones with us to Disney. Are we going to be able to be a part of the My Disney Experience/Magic Bands without access to our phones/apps? Just wondering what to expect. Thank you!

    Hi there JanaLee!

Thanks so much for visiting me at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I just LOVE to receive questions from my fellow Canadians and especially fellow Ontarians!

You're going to absolutely love all of the new technology currently being implemented around the parks! It's simply amazing so far and they've barely begun! Walt Disney World has significantly improved and added to their WiFi availability in the parks. Go ahead and bring those devices - BUT - be sure to turn your phones all onto 'airplane mode' and/or turn off 'Data Roaming' on your phones. With so many Canadians traveling abroad and concerned about cellular charges and roaming surprises, your cellular provider should be able to provide you with all the information you need in order to bring your devices along to use on WiFi signals, without the worry of extra charges.

My family are all iPhone users, so for us it's a simple switch to 'Airplane Mode' in the Settings panel and we're able to access the MyDisneyExperience app via WiFi in the parks and even message each other through other online, WiFi apps such as Facebook Messenger to stay in touch with family and friends back home during our travels.

Should you still feel uncomfortable about using cellular devices across the border, you will find access points in such locations as City Hall in Magic Kingdom and other Guest Services locations around the parks, where you'll be able to access My Disney Experience via iPads and other devices with the assistance of Cast Members. You'll also enjoy the convenience of being able to use personal computers in your Resort Room via WiFi.

If you have additional questions about using your Canadian cellular devices to access My Disney Experience, please don't hesitate to write me back. I'd love to hear from you again JanaLee!

Wishing you a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World!
