Welcome, Ruby, to planDisney! We're excited to have you here.
My favorite topic to discuss is Disney dining, so I jumped at the chance to answer your question. As Remy from
Ratatouille would say, “If you are what you eat, then I only want to eat the good stuff.” And the
dining plans at the Walt Disney World Resort can be a great way to make sure you eat
all the good stuff. Your vacation package becomes almost like it's all-inclusive, with most (if not all) of your meals and snacks paid for in advance! Just take care of gratuity for the great service you receive, and you're all set.
Currently, you'll need to purchase your dining plan by the day before your check-in date at the latest. So, if your check-in date is February 25, 2025, the latest you should be able to add a dining plan to your vacation package is February 24, 2025. Please note that at this time, a dining plan can only be added to a vacation
package (Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room reservation
and theme park tickets booked together).
Sometimes, the table-service restaurants at the resort overshadow some of the quick-service options, but let me tell you, some of my favorite restaurants are quick-service. Here are a few of my favorites:
- Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo. Talk about unique and delicious. I'm not even a big Star Wars fan, but the theming and dining options here are mesmerizing!
- Satu'li Canteen. Hands down, this is my favorite quick-service option at the resort. Fresh, tasty, and filling. Highly recommended!
- Woody's Lunch Box. A small location that packs a punch with approachable options to satisfy most eaters, picky or not.
- Regal Eagle Smokehouse. I mean, first, we have theming related to The Muppets. Anything Muppets is a winner in my book. But also, if you're a barbecue fan, this is the place for you.
- Contempo Café. Maybe I'm partial to this place because my home resort with Disney Vacation Club is Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. But it has some great options, including desserts and delicious on-the-go entrees. I particularly enjoy their Breakfast Flatbread and am hoping to try the Cookie Croissant on my next trip because that has my name written all over it!
But no matter where you eat, check to see if the quick-service options you pick use
Mobile Order. I usually place my order in the morning by selecting a window when I know I want to eat, pressing "I'm Here, Prepare My Order" on the
My Disney Experience mobile app when it's time, and I'm good to go! After all, "if you’re stressed, it’s
Mobile Order, we suggest.” It'll reduce that stress pretty quickly!
Ruby, may your meals be as vibrant as mahogany and as sweet as a Pineapple DOLE Whip. Enjoy all of your culinary experiences, and
reach out again with any other questions!
Bon appétit,
Matt
