Hello there, Tania!
Be Our Guest and put our planDisney service to the test. Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation will be here before you know it, so now we invite you to relax; pull up a chair as I proudly present how to budget for taxes and gratuities.
The sales tax rate depends on which county you are dining in since the Walt Disney World Resort property is spread across two counties. Depending on where you are dining, your sales tax rate will be either 6.5% or 7.5%.
As for gratuities, an automatic gratuity of 18% will be automatically added for parties of six or more to any
dining, buffet, or family-style meals. It is
customary in the USA to tip for services, and the average tip in bars and all restaurants is 15-20% of the bill. When your bill arrives at your table at the end of the meal, you should see the sales tax rate and suggested gratuity clearly laid out on the check.
The Dinner at the Walt Disney World Resort is never second best. If it suits your itinerary, one of my favorite all-you-care-to-enjoy buffets for breakfast and dinner is
Boma - Flavors of Africa in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Between the views of the wildlife, Passion Orange Guava (POG) juice, and Cinnamon-Raison Bread Pudding, it’s a culinary cabaret!
May the magic be with you!Melanie
