Do I need to bring my certified marriage license along with my original birth certificate to sail Disney Wish- closed loop to Bahamas? If so, are copies fine or do they have to be CERTIFIED? Last names are different on each.

    Hello, Amanda!

Thank you for sending your question to planDisney. The Disney Wish is a beautiful ship! My family sailed on it last fall, and my kids begged to go on the AquaMouse countless times each day. It is the perfect experience on a sunny day because you are almost guaranteed to get wet! I was soaked each time!

Disney Cruise Line encourages Guests to use a passport on their sailings. Passports make it much simpler to fly out of a different country in case of an emergency (plus it means less paperwork to take with you). However, I chatted with Cast Member Samil who said that Guests can travel with just their birth certificate and valid government-issued ID (and marriage certificate, in your case) for any sailings that start and end in the same United States port at this time. Name differences due to marriage do require the Guest to bring the marriage license as proof of the name change. Samil said that state-issued documents are preferred, and to call Disney Cruise Line Embarkation Guest Services at 800-395-9374 or the Disney Cruise Line general number if you have additional questions about bringing copies.

I recommend reviewing the travel guidelines and regulations for your specific itinerary under "My Reservations" on the Disney Cruise Line website. This contains important information to help you prepare for your voyage. Keep in mind that travel requirements can change at any time, which is why it is beneficial to review the requirements for your specific cruise.

I hope you get the chance to dine in Palo Steakhouse, one of the adult-only restaurants onboard the Disney Wish. I like eating brunch there because of the spectacular ocean view we can enjoy during the day. We also like experiencing dinner and the evening shows together as a family, making brunch a perfect opportunity for my husband and me to sneak away while my kids play in Disney's Oceaneer Club. During our last sailing, I ordered a delicious Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Breast. It was so good!

Amanda, I hope you have a wonderful vacation aboard the Disney Wish! It is such a special experience!

    Happy sailing!
