Do I need to bring a birth certificate or identification for children 2 and under?

Hi there, Ashley. Thanks for asking your question here at planDisney. We are happy to have you!

Isn't it great that children under the age of 3 are free at Walt Disney World? When my daughter was younger we took advantage of this perk as much as we could. I think you'll be happy to know, Ashley, that my pal Mickey Mouse is a pretty trusting guy. You won't need to show any type of proof of age for your young child. When you're at the kiosk to scan your ticket to enter the Walt Disney World Theme Park and Mickey turns green allowing you in, you'll simply carry or walk your under the age of 3 child right along with you. If it would make you feel more comfortable you can always bring a copy of the birth certificate, however, I was never asked for any type of proof nor have I ever heard of anyone else being asked either. I really wouldn't worry about it.

Did you know that Guests under the age of 3 can also eat at Walt Disney World restaurants for free? That mouse is a pretty generous little dude! At restaurants that are all-you-care-to-enjoy like at Chef Mickey's your little one is able to have as many of his or her own plates as they care to have. If you can lump in an all-you-care-to-enjoy meal and a character meal together that's even better because you are getting a meal and an experience for your little one for free! At restaurants where you order a single entree from a menu, your little one is welcome to plate share with anyone at the table free of charge. If at these places you'd like to order your under the age of 3 child a little something else, only then would you be required to pay.

Taking your small child to Walt Disney World is so special Ashley. You are going to make memories that will last your whole lifetime. I look back on that time with my daughter and can't help but smile. Everything is so magical and in the moment with children that small. I hope you truly savory the moment.

If you have more questions throughout the planning process, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help!

    Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
