Hi Melanie! Thanks for stopping by planDisney. We love helping Guests like us answer their planning questions.
I'm happy to report that you do not need to bring a birth certificate or any kind of document to verify your child's age. If asked at the turnstile, you just have to simply share their age and you will be on your way. This means they also will not require a reservation since reservations are only needed for ticketed Guests. I do want to clear up that any child under 3 years does not require a ticket for entry into the parks. Children 3 and above do require
tickets and reservations for entry.
If this is your first trip to Disneyland Resort with littles I want to give you a few pointers to help you make the most of your days in the parks.
I found it helpful by taking a look at the attractions page to see which attractions had
no height requirements for our whole family to enjoy together.
I also know that sometimes adults or older children have a few attractions that they don't want to miss out on. This is where
Rider Switch comes in to save the day. Certain attractions with height requirements will allow the whole party to visit a Cast Member at the attraction entrance to let them know that they want to utilize Rider Switch. One member of the party will stay back with the non-riders while the other party members get in line and ride the attraction. Then the rider who stayed behind will be given access to the Lightning Lane to enjoy the attraction with another member of the party.
Melanie, I hope this information is helpful and that your trip is full of magical moments for the memory books!
Carrie
