Need best possible strategy for getting my DH, a veteran,a chance to help with MK's morning flag raising. The morning we have planned for this does not have EMH. I realize there's no guarentee, but what should our steps be that morning for the best chance?

    Hi Donna!

First of all, I must ask you to please give my heart-felt thank you to your husband for his service to our country, and I also thank him, you, and your entire family for the sacrifices you have made.  Words simply cannot express my gratitude!

There is actually a daily flag ceremony at the Magic Kingdom, called a "Flag Retreat", in the late afternoon/evening which includes an honor guard of Walt Disney World Security Officers and others.  An honored veteran is also invited to be a part of this very special ceremony.   If you are interested, you can watch a video of this on the Disney Parks Blog by clicking HEREWarning:  It may move you to tears, as it did me!

For the best chance of being the honored veteran, check into City Hall (Guest Services) first thing upon entry into the park, and inquire with a Cast Member there about the ceremony and whether or not there is an opportunity for your participation that day.

I do hope that you are able to experience this very special event.  Oh, how I wish EVERY veteran who has returned home could be honored with his/her own special parade - and there is simply no better place to celebrate this than on Main Street, U.S.A.!!!
