Hi Isabel! Welcome to planDisney.
Oh Boy! You are only two days away from your festival holiday at
Walt Disney World Resort. Your questions are important, let's dive in and work through them individually.
First things first, the old fast pass system has been retired.
Disney Genie Service is the program available to help maximize your park time. The complimentary version can take your preferences and help guide you with park suggestions. It sounds like you are more interested in the
Disney Genie+ Service. For a fee, you can add this service to your park day any time after midnight of your
Disney Park Pass Reservation. To do this, open the
My Disney Experience Mobile App and tap on the "Purchase" tab under "Disney Genie Service." Beginning at 7:00 AM, under "Tip Board," you can make your first Lightning Lane selection which helps minimize your wait time in queue lines. My pal,
Anne Marie, does a fantastic job
explaining the two-hour rule on how and when you can make more Lightning Lane selections. I am also including
six short helpful videos that will walk you through all the important aspects of Disney Genie Service.
While I am not versed in exactly what your husband's disability entails, I can tell you Walt Disney World Resort works hard to make sure all guests have an inclusive vacation experience. Read this link about
Services for Guests with Disabilities. If
mobility is an issue, I highly recommend you consider renting an
Electric Conyevance Vehicle (ECV). These are available at all theme parks and Disney Springs close to the entrance. If you would like to keep your ECV for a resort stay, I recommend you consider using the Disney Feature Provider, Scooterbug. This route allows you to keep your ECV for use on transportation and at the resorts. Bell Services will also accept and return your vehicle without your physical presence. Scroll the link I provided above for a direct link to Scooterbug.
For more information on Disability Services, you can call (407) 560-2547 or email disability.service@disneyparks.com.
Keeping it Magical,
Cindy
