Hello, Jeanine!
Welcome to
planDisney, and thanks for asking us a question about
Magic Key passes at the
Disneyland Resort. I’m happy to hear you're interested in becoming a Magic Key holder. It’s the best way to enjoy many magical theme park visits throughout the year for one price, plus you get access to valuable
discounts and perks!
At this time, Jeanine, sales of new Magic Keys are paused so it is not possible to purchase a pass. I hate to be the bearer of this perhaps less-than-magical news. We’re not sure when Magic Key passes will become available again, but if you keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog and follow the Disneyland Resort’s social media accounts, you’ll be one of the first to know when an announcement is made about Magic Key sales resuming!
If passes go back on sale weeks or even months before you plan to visit the resort next, I still recommend buying one while you can and waiting to activate it. Magic Key passes do not become active until the first time they are used for theme park entry, or they can also be activated when using the included
parking benefit in a pay-on-entry lot at the Disneyland Resort, such as the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure. A Magic Key is valid for one year after the activation date, not the purchase date, so you would be able to use it as much as possible during your desired travel period.
I hope this answers your question, Jeanine, and that your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth is pixie-dusted to perfection! I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you’ll be able to call yourself a Magic Key holder soon.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
