Welcome to planDisney, Bobbie! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today. Late arrivals happen all the time, and there's no need to worry about your room. To set your mind at ease, there's something you can do to give your
Resort Hotel a heads up about your anticipated arrival time, and I'm happy to walk you through it.
When you complete online check-in in the
My Disney Experience app, you'll see a spot to enter your estimated arrival time. That's the easiest way to let the resort know you'll be coming in late. Your room is held through your check-in day, so you don't need to worry about it being given away just because you won't be there right at 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM. Letting them know your timing simply keeps everyone on the same page and gives you a little extra peace of mind.
If you use the
Direct-to-Room service in the app, you can even skip the front desk when you arrive. Disney will send you a "room ready" notification and text, and your
MagicBand or
Disney MagicMobile will unlock the door. If your plans shift, no stress: you can still show up later that night and head straight to your room once it's assigned.
A couple of small tips: make sure you've got a credit card on file during check-in, keep your phone charged for that text and notification, and have a photo ID handy just in case you need to stop by the front desk. If your arrival might slip several hours later than anticipated due to unexpected delays, it's a good idea to call the resort and add a note to your reservation so they know you're still coming.
I hope this answers your question, Bobbie, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
