Hi Julie,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am happy to help you with navigating Fast Pass+ selections!
First, remember that if you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you can make your Fast Pass+ selections 60 days in advance. I always wake up early on Fast Pass+ selection day with our preferred selections identified so that I can make those selections as quickly as possible. You will be able to make three initial Fast Pass+ selections at one park per day that you have valid theme park admission. At parks that have Fast Pass+ tiers (Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios), you will need to choose one attraction from Tier 1 and the remaining attractions from Tier 2. Even if you did not select any attractions from Tier 2, you would still only be able to select one attraction from Tier 1.
I suggest that you select three initial attractions as you make your plans. In my experience, we have only been able to add attractions from Tier 2 on the day of our visit. We map out our rope drop or pre-park opening dining reservation strategy to do an additional Tier 1 ride. For example, at Epcot, we make a pre-park opening dining reservation for 8:00 a.m. (no later than 8:15 a.m.) at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall on a day when the park does not have early morning Extra Magic Hours. If we can get that dining reservation at 8:00 a.m., we can dine, meet all of the characters and exit the restaurant by 9:00 a.m., just in time to jump in the standby line for Frozen Ever After before the crowds arrive. With this strategy, our wait is no more than 10 minutes. After we take that royal tour of Arendelle, we then head to our first Fast Pass+ selection of the day. Yours could be Soarin' Around the World!
Julie, pay attention to the
park hours, especially the Extra Magic Hours as you plan!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
