Need activities, no parks, (around 1-3 hrs including travel) to do with almost 5 year old dd while ds naps w/dad each pm. Not interested in BBB or anything too "girly", but up for any suggestions, especially lowcost/free ideas! Thanks!

    Hi Kelsey,

This is a great question!  We've often taken 7-9 night trips and appreciated the number of things we could do in our down-time.  Here are a few of the things I would recommend:

    • Mini-Golfing - It's a great afternoon activity.  We prefer the Winter Summerland courses, you can find more information about it here.
    • LEGO Imagination Center - Is located at Downtown Disney, and provides endless fun for kids and adults alike.  Not only do they have an incredible selection of LEGOs for purchase, they have an interactive play place to build your own creations.  Best of all, it's free!
    • T-Rex Cafe - Also located at Downtown Disney, there is a retail shop that has some unique items as well as a "Build-a-Dino" feature.  It is much like like the Build a Bear shops you may have seen in your local mall, but has dinosaurs.
    • Boardwalk - Visit the Boardwalk area and stop by the arcade at the ESPN  Club or rent a surrey bike for a trip around the lake.
    • Monorail - It's one of the kids favorite things to do.  Simple and free, but for some reason fascinating!  Simply board the Magic Kingdom Monorail for a trip around seven seas lagoon, or if you have additional time board the train to Epcot and take a round-trip adventure.  Whichever train you board, be sure to note where you got on so when you return to that location you'll know to get off.
    • Fort Wilderness - Catch a bus over to the fort for some good old fashion fun!  Here you can experience wagon rides and pony rides.  Call 407-939-7589 for more information.

Hopefully this can get you started, have a great trip!
