Hi Clare!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Ooo, it sounds like you're getting ready to set sail to paradise! My family and I are excitedly awaiting our upcoming Bahamian adventure aboard Disney Cruise Line, too! I am most looking forward to the stop at
Disney's private island, Castaway Cay. Spending the day on the beautiful beach with our Disney Cruise ship in the distance is my idea of paradise!
Nassau is a beautiful port of call! My family's favorite way to explore the history and culture of each port of call during our cruises is by booking a
Port Adventure through Disney Cruise Line. With that being said, Nassau is one of my favorite destinations because Guests can disembark the ship and be just steps away from shopping and restaurants! If you decided that you do not want to schedule a Port Adventure, you and the adventurers sailing with you could spend some time walking around the Straw Market, which is just a short walk away from the ship. There you will find local merchants selling their beautiful jewelry, purses, artwork and more!
If you'd rather stay onboard while the ship is visiting Nassau, that's a wonderful way to spend the day, too! We've found that the popular areas of the ship, like the
pools, are a little less crowded while docked at a port of call because many of the Guests are ashore exploring! If you decided to stay onboard, this is a great time to catch a movie or take a swim!
Clare, please sail back with any other questions as you plan for your unforgettable cruise!
