Is it necessary to have a rental car or do the shuttle buses and walking suffice?

Hello Roxanne!  Disney has this wonderful gift of thinking about its guests in every possible way. They know that you are the one on vacation and they want you to enjoy every minute of it.  This means that Disney will do ALL the driving!  Now if you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort and will fly into Orlando's airport, Disney's Magical Express will even pick you and your family up to transport you to your WDW Resort.  They will even pick you up on your last day at your resort to whisk you back to to the airport and, well, back to reality.  While you are on the WDW grounds, Disney offers so many different ways to travel around this magical place.  Please click HERE to read what different types of transportation Disney offers.  My family and I drive to Florida many times a year.  Once we enter the WDW Resort area, we never see our car again until our departure.  Unless you plan to travel outside the WDW Resort area, you really will not need your car.
Well, I hope this helps with your decision.  The buses and other WDW transportation systems will get you where you need to go.  Have a magical day!
