We have narrowed it down to the French Quarter & Carribean beach what is better for kids 5-8 ? which one is closer to the parks, balcony? doesn't matter what park we are near, want to be close to everything,I hope you can help with this question.

    Tyler:

Thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel!

Both French Quarter and Caribbean Beach Resort feature benefits for elementary-age kids.  The French Quarter's boat service to Downtown Disney is practically an attraction in itself while CBR is probably best known for its pirate-themed pool and waterplay area for younger kids.

While neither is within walking distance or a monorail's ride to one of the parks, the French Quarter does offer the boat to Downtown Disney, as I mentioned.  Both resorts require bus transportation to the parks.  When it comes to transportation I'd give the French Quarter a leg up because it has only one bus in comparison to CBR's multiple stops.

I'd let the time of year determine which hotel you choose.  If it's during a warm time of the year (April - early October), I'd go with CBR as you'll be able to get the most out of the pool.  If it's the other half of the year, I'd choose the French Quarter with its proximity to Downtown Disney!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
