Hi, Carole! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your question!
The Candlelight Processional has been a Disneyland Resort tradition since 1958. However, the event here is run a little differently than at the Walt Disney World Resort. For instance, for the most part, this is an invitation-only performance with very limited areas for other park-goers to stand and watch the show. Also, the narrators for the Disneyland Resort Candlelight Processional aren’t typically announced ahead of time, or if they are it’s only within a few days of the actual event. Keep your eye on the
Disney Parks Blog to see if they announce any information for this year’s Candlelight Processional.
While you are at the parks during this festive time of year, definitely try to catch the lightings of the Christmas tree in Town Square, the facade of
“it’s a small world” Holiday, and the complete transformation of Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle. Additionally, you’ll want to check out all the
Festive Food Marketplace Kiosks in Disney California Adventure Park during the
Disney Festival of Holidays. Scrumptious foods celebrating the cultural traditions of Christmas, Hanukkah, Navidad, Kwanza, and Diwali can be sampled throughout the day. Pick up a Tasting Passport and eat your way through the holiday season!
I hope you have an absolutely wonderful trip to the Happiest Place on Earth!
