    What are the names of the horses used for the carriage rides at Port Orleans Riverside that also run as the headless horseman horses?

    Don’t you just love the variety of magical activities available for Guests of Walt Disney World Resort? From Surrey bike rentals to Horse Drawn Carriage rides to watercraft cruises, there is no shortage of methods to explore The Most Magical Place on Earth. But, enough horsing around, Karen. Let's get right to your question!

    While Percherons, Clydesdales and Belgians are all utilized for horse-drawn carriage rides at various locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort, the Headless Horseman’s mount is a bit of a mystery. My best research indicates that the unofficial Grand Marshal of Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade consistently travels from Frontierland to Main Street, U.S.A. astride a draft horse. While the specific breed varies, it was most recently reported to be a Percheron.

    Although you specifically mentioned carriage rides at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, did you know that they are also available at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground? If you’re hoping to meet a few more magical neigh-bors, Tri-Circle D Ranch is home to almost 100 of the Happiest Horses on Earth (including Cinderella’s Ponies)! If you’d like to know the names of the horses you encounter, I encourage you to ask a nearby Cast Member. In my experience, they’re delighted to share information about their steed!
