Does the name on my ticket need to match the name on my ID?

Hey there Brennan! Welcome to planDisney. I see your visit to the Disneyland Resort is fast approaching and I'm sure you are so excited! I just returned from a trip to the parks last week and it was such a fantastic time getting to give Disney Genie+ a try!

I'm happy to let you know that you do not need to worry about the name on your ticket matching your ID, unless that ticket is a special ticket, like the Military Promotional Park Hopper Ticket. Those tickets must be scanned for the first time with a valid ID. As long as it's not a specialty ticket like that, you should be good to go! Your ticket will be connected to you when you scan in and the Cast Member takes your photo. The name is more for you to differentiate the tickets if you have multiple people in your party.

Be sure to check out Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ services while you are in the parks. When I purchased Disney Genie+ this last week, I was able to ride so many attractions between the two parks in one day with minimal time in line. That saved us so much time that we were able to enjoy two longer breaks for meals and still have plenty of time to experience what we wanted.

Brennan, thanks again for visiting us here at planDisney! I hope your trip is full of MAGIC and delicious snacks. See ya real soon!

I love helping my friends plan memorable trips to Disneyland Resort and can't wait to help you too! Learn More About Carrie
