Does the name on the ticket need to match my id?

    Hi there, Maribel!

The name linked to your theme park ticket is a useful way to help keep multiple tickets straight in the Disneyland mobile app. However, in most cases for standard tickets, it is not strictly necessary for the name to match exactly with the Guest using the ticket. Once the ticket is activated, it becomes linked to a Guest and cannot be transferred to another Guest. For your security, Cast Members will be able to verify your ticket is linked to you by the photo taken of you when you first use the ticket.

Some promotional tickets, including discounted tickets for eligible active and retired military personnel, have certain ID requirements. Even with those, ID is more for purposes of eligibility verification than name matching. So if you used a nickname when assigning a name to a ticket, invented a new “nickname” with a slight typo, or if a member of your party sadly can’t accompany you any longer and someone else will use their ticket, “hakuna matata.” It means, “no worries!” In most cases, you may proceed with using that ticket as-is. Should you feel strongly about correcting a name linked to a ticket, you may reach out to a Cast Member with the Tickets phone line.

Tony’s Tip: If you wish to worry even less about the details associated with your theme park ticket, I recommend purchasing an optional MagicBand+. After not using older-style MagicBands at the Disneyland Resort for so many years, I admit I was skeptical about whether I would appreciate and need them at The Happiest Place on Earth as much as I do when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. But after using them during our family vacation to the Disneyland Resort last week, I became hooked! I love how convenient it is to enter a theme park entrance or redeem a Lightning Lane return time without fumbling in my wallet for my ticket card or worrying whether my mobile phone has enough battery power. And the magical surprises that suddenly appear with the MagicBand+ at certain times and places add a whole new layer of storytelling to our visits.
