Lightsabers on Starcruiser

Savannah from LA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

My name is Savannah and I booked an experience to build a lightsaber. I was able to get an 8:25 am booking but the park doesn’t open until 8:30. I was wondering if it was similar to dining reservations and we will be able to get in early .

Bright suns, Savannah and welcome to planDisney!

It looks like you're keen to learn the secrets of the Gatherers over at Savi's Workshop, and you're set to experience it bright and early as the three suns rise high over the planet Batuu at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. I also had a pre-opening reservation prior to the official Theme Park hours and here's some Princely pointers from my recent experience:

    • Even if you're not eligible for Early Entry, it's a good idea to head in earlier and aim to be at the entrance to Disney's Hollywood Studios half an hour ahead of time. If you don't see any designated signage directing you, speak with a Cast Member and show them your reservation on the My Disney Experience App; we were directed immediately to a turnstile where we were able to enter and make our way ahead of the crowd awaiting the official entry time.
    • In the event that you're unable to gain access any earlier than 8:30 a.m. you might be relieved to find that for our early reservation slot we actually didn't get going until just after 8:45 a.m. which could be due to them allotting enough time for any fellow intergalactic travelers still making their way in. While your experience may be different and actual policies are subject to change without prior notice, my biggest recommendation is to speak to the Cast Members once you arrive - especially those at the Guest Relations window if you need any assistance getting in.
As a bit of personal advice, having your building experience earlier in the day is in itself a double-ended lightsaber in that you'll be able to spend the day feeling fantastic as you carry it around - with the drawback being that you have to be prepared to carry it around all day or stash it safely. Personally I like being able to end my day with one of the last reservation slots, as there's really a completely different feel to being able to ignite your lightsaber in the evening to take photos with far fewer fellow guests wandering about Black Spire Outpost. Be sure to come back again to planDisney for any more personalized advice ahead of your next adventure to a galaxy far, far away!

    Ignite the spark!
