Hiya, Lori, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It’s great to have you here!
It’s always a good idea to
“Know Before You Go,” as this helpful Disney Parks Blog post mentions. According to the
Disneyland Resort Rules, coolers, backpacks, and bags can be no larger than 24” long by 15” wide by 18” high. So, as long as your cooler fits within these parameters, you shouldn’t have a problem entering the parks with it. You will be stopped at a security checkpoint on your way into the
Disneyland Resort, so be prepared for a Security Cast Member to check your cooler if needed. Also, keep in mind that loose or dry ice isn’t permitted, but re-usable ice packs are. Lastly, alcoholic beverages and glass containers (excluding small baby food jars) aren’t allowed inside the parks, either.
As you mentioned, it’s important to stay hydrated during your Disney days in the warm California sun! If you’d prefer not to carry around a cooler, you can also ask for a complimentary cup of ice water at any quick-service
dining location. This is a great way to stay hydrated and keep the cost down, too!
If you have any extra bags or clothes that you’d prefer not to carry around, you can also rent a locker.
Locker rentals are available in various sizes in three different locations – there’s one on the Esplanade just outside the entrances of both parks, one on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park, and one on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure Park.
Last but not least, here’s the
Entertainment Schedule for your day of arrival… it’s never too early to start mapping out the magic!
Please stop by with any additional questions you may have… we’re all EARs!
