Hi my name is Kym and Next weekend I will be at Disney for the first time and for my daughters bday. Just wondering if we can use cash or is everything electrician right now?

Hi there, Kymberlee! Welcome to planDisney!

Oh my goodness! Can you believe that your very first Walt Disney World Resort vacation is finally here!? Well, maybe just a few days left, but you're almost there! You must be so excited to kick off your vacation and jump into the fun! So, let's get your question answered so you can get back to packing!

Walt Disney World is currently encouraging the use of more contactless methods of payments, but I am happy to share that you can absolutely still use cash for payments made during your visit. In the past, I have seen one or two registers at shops and quick-service restaurants be reserved exclusively for credit cards or contactless payments, but you will still find a register that accepts cash. It may be helpful to know that there are ATMs located throughout all four theme parks, the Disney Resort hotels. and Disney springs, should you need to withdraw more during your visit. If you need help locating one, you can lookout for a Cast Member, and they will be happy to show you the way.

Now, let's talk about how to celebrate your first visit and your daughter's big day! When you arrive at the first theme park you plan to visit, you'll want to head to Guest Relations to pick up a complimentary "Happy Birthday" celebration button. The team there will be happy to customize it with the birthday girl's name, giving her something fun to wear around the parks. You are sure to be delighted as Cast Members (and maybe even a few of your favorite Characters!) spot the button and wish her a very happy birthday all day long! The birthday girl is sure to feel extra special! But, we can't forget about you, Kymberlee! Your first visit is surely something to celebrate, so be sure to ask for your own festive pin in honor of your first trip to Walt Disney World!

How incredible that your first visit lines up with Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary Celebration! There is so much special magic throughout all four theme parks, so you're bound to have an incredible time. I'm sure you've heard about Walt Disney World's world-class shows and entertainment, so do make sure you check out the incredible nighttime show, Disney Enchantment, at Magic Kingdom Park. This fireworks spectacular is really special and is the perfect way to end your magical day in the parks!

I hope your upcoming Walt Disney World Vacation is a magical adventure! Who knows, if you're anything like me, you may get bitten by the Disney bug and end up booking your next visit before you even leave! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any other vacation planning questions at all.

    Have a magical day!
