Hello! My name is Heather, I'm a (brand new!) Disney Travel Specialist, and have surprise 10th birthday trip planned for a special little girl named Ariel on May 6th. Is there a place in Disney we can order a Mermaid cake with Ariel the mermaid??

Hiya, Heather! Welcome to planDisney! We always have a blast meeting other people who love to plan Walt Disney World Resort vacations as much as we do!

And how fun to plan a magical under-the-sea birthday trip for little Ariel! Disney does have a way to order cakes for special occasions such as a little Mousketeer's birthday. One option is the Mickey Celebration Cake, which is an adorable and delicious confection. It's available in chocolate or white chocolate, and you can have a birthday or other occasion message written on an ear. We had this for my son's birthday a few years ago, and it was out of this world! Plus, it's a really simple and convenient choice because you can order it as late as the day of your celebration right at the restaurant podium.

But for a custom cake (like, say, for a tiny mermaid), you'll want to call the Cake Ordering Hotline at (407) 827-2253. You'll hear a recorded message with some helpful info, and then you can work with a Cast Member to see what options you have for ordering a birthday cake that she'll fall head-over-fins in love with. Just note that they may need 72 hours advance notice, so you'll want to call them as soon as you can.

You can also try Amorette's Patisserie at Disney Springs. They specialize in delectable delights that are not only yummy but breathtakingly beautiful!

To really make it a swimmingly special day, the birthday girl and her family should definitely become part of Ariel's world at the Magic Kingdom Park! First, they can visit Under the Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid  and head where everything's better, down where it's wetter, to see Ariel and her friends relive her story in a ride that will have them singing their favorite songs. But watch out for Ursula! There's also a lovely scene featuring Ariel in Mickey's PhilharMagic, a 3-D experience that puts you right in the middle of some classic Disney movies.

Another way to celebrate her big day is with a free Celebration Button. They can pick one up at any Guest Relations location or at most of the retail shops in the theme parks, and a Cast Member can personalize it for her. She'll be so proud to wear it, and she'll just love all the warm wishes she gets all day long!

Heather, I hope this helps you plan a sweet "shell-a-bration" for this sweet little one. Feel free to stop by and see us again if you have any more questions!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
