Hi there Gustavo, and welcome to planDisney!
As a recent Disney Groom (or DisGroom as some might put it) who got married this year, I'm so glad to help give you pointers and tips from my personal wedding planning experience. Here's my step-by-step process for planning a Disney Wedding:
- Request a digital brochure that will give you a glimpse of the possibilities and an idea of the current wedding pricing, and fill out the Contact Form so that a member of Disney's Fairytale Weddings and Honeymoons sales team will reach out to you.
- The next step is to have your desired dates and venues tentatively locked in, and I contacted the sales team who confirmed that they currently begin this process up to 18 months in advance, depending on whether you'll also be planning a full wedding reception.
- Our next step was to have a meeting digitally or over the phone to discuss the options we wanted and after we signed a Letter of Agreement and paid a deposit, we had several months to wait as we decided and dreamt about the fun details like food, décor, entertainment and additional events for our guests to enjoy.
- The next step would be to complete a Planning Kit that we would fill out before having a virtual Planning Session with the team assigned to us a few months before the big day. At this point within our wedding planning window we were able to request a cake tasting kit and were fortunate to be invited to attend a group menu tasting event - but this is currently not guaranteed for all couples. Self-Guided venue tours are currently available on select dates for you to visit, however!
- After the Planning Session our communication sped up considerably in the last three months as more details were finalized; before we knew it, it was our wedding week and the entire team pulled it off perfectly!
What I recommend is looking into
fun moments that only come with having a Disney Wedding that my husband and I chose to include: appearances by Mickey and Minnie, a Disney fireworks dessert party event,
a private photo session in front of Cinderella Castle before Magic Kingdom Park opens and an Attraction Mix-in for our guests to ride as VIPs at the end of the night.
Note that offerings, pricing and availability for everything wedding related is subject to change without prior notice - which definitely happened a few times over the course of my experience! There are also a lot of extra rules and restrictions to keep in mind specific to Disney Weddings, so I found it super helpful to find inspiration on the
Ever After Blog, listening to
Disney Wedding Podcast episodes, and be a part of online planning communities for DisBrides and DisGrooms alike to share ideas, current pricing and find support from fellow Disney couples who've been through the planning process! Don't forget, you can always
