Welcome back to planDisney, Donna!
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is lovely at any time of year, but in April? It is spectacular! Mornings can be cooler than in those warmer summer months, so the animals are often alert and exploring the savannah before needing to find shade in the later hotter hours.
If you opt to try
Up Close with Rhinos, you'll be in for an even bigger treat thanks to these gentle giants! You'll note that the "Know Before You Go" section of this Enchanting Extra experience specifies closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended. So, if your favorite footwear fits that bill, you'll be just fine.
I have several pairs of that shoe brand because they are so super-comfy for park touring. They're great, too, because I don't have to worry about them getting wet after an exceptionally soaking ride on
Kali River Rapids! However, mine are open-toe, so I would not opt for these when taking a tour that recommends a different shoe. Because you'll be going backstage--so exciting!--you'll be walking on surfaces that are not the same as paths designed for loads of park-goers. You'll be in areas created for these lovely creatures, so you might want that closed-toe shoe after all.
Donna, one of my favorite memories is doing
Wild Africa Trek in Animal Kingdom with my son several years ago, so I know how absolutely magical these Animal Kingdom privately-guided tours can be. You're going to love yours!
As you pack all the pixie dust into your
Walt Disney World plans, Donna, be sure to send additional questions our way. We love to help!
