Hi there, Danielle, and welcome back to planDisney! I'm so glad that you've stopped by with this question. I love visiting Walt Disney World Resort with my large extended family - having everybody together makes it that much more magical! It's so thoughtful of you to consider your mom's needs as you begin your planning process.
Danielle, did you know that Walt Disney World Resort offers a few
dog-friendly hotels? Dogs are allowed to travel with you to: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort. At this time, dogs are the only pets allowed at these
Disney Resorts Collection hotels. As for other areas, I found the following information on the
Walt Disney World Resort website: "only trained service animals are permitted inside Walt Disney World theme parks, water parks or Disney Springs. A service animal is a dog or miniature horse that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability." At this time, cats are not included in this definition.
Happily, Walt Disney World Resort does an exceptional job of including guests of
all abilities. You can learn about the variety of services for guests with disabilities on
this helpful website. Friendly Cast Members are always standing by and happy to help guests have a safe and enjoyable experience in the Disney Resort hotels,
Disney Theme Parks,
Disney Springs, and anywhere else you might need them. Ahead of your visit, you're always welcome to reach out to a
Cast Member with specific questions via chat or phone, or stop back by
planDisney with any planning questions you have.
Have a magical day!
Jennifer
