Hi, my name is Colton and I am interested in getting ideas on if I book a cruise in the future what is the best ship and a verandah stateroom would be great for a family of 5 correct

Anchors aweigh, Colton! Thanks for braving the ocean waters and swimming on over to planDisney where we love to talk about all aspects of Disney Cruise Line!

Colton, I love that you're planning ahead and considering how best to accommodate your family on a Disney Cruise Line voyage. Cruising has quickly become one of my family's favorite vacations and while we just disembarked a couple of months ago, we are already talking about what ship and itinerary will be next!

Now, Colton, with a family of five, you will be booking a Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah. These room categories are available on all five ships. I LOVE having a verandah and sitting outside with my morning coffee or enjoying the night breezes before bed. Other than suites, these are the only staterooms that accommodate five people.

Since you know exactly what type of room will work for your traveling party, let's talk about ships and destinations! While each ship is different, you will find those special Disney touches on each one. For example, Disney Cruise Line offers rotational dining on every ship. These means for dinner, you will rotate through three different restaurants, each with a different vibe and menu. As for which ship is the best... my answer truly depends on your family! We tend to pick a cruise based on dates or itineraries first. For example, this past October, we sailed from New York City to Bermuda aboard the Disney Dream. We would like our next adventure to take us to a different destination, no matter the ship.

If you'd like a ship on the smaller size for your first sailing, check out the Disney Wonder or the Disney Magic. If you have fans of Marvel or Pixar in your family, some sailings offer special, themed days, so that might be something to consider! For 2024, these are scheduled on the Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream. If your family members are first-time cruisers and you'd like to test the waters with a shorter voyage, like 3- or 4-nights, check out the Disney Wish (the newest ship currently sailing).

Colton, I hope this gives you a few ideas to help in your selection process. If you have any additional questions, please point your compass in the direction of planDisney and come on back!

    Wishing you a Magical vacation,
    Lauren
