Hey Howdy Hey Charlotte and welcome to planDisney!
I am so excited to hear you are in the process of planning your trip to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth next year! October is such a great month to visit Walt Disney World Resort as well. The temperatures are not nearly as hot as the summer months and the parks are all dressed up for the fall season which is super cool! Thank you for your question on availability. Let's see what we can come up with and get you some answers.
In the past, meaning 2 weeks ago, the availability and reservation process worked a little different. As of August 19th, last week, Disney has changed its policy on when you can book vacations with Disney. I would try to look for availability again to see what you can come up with. I don't think you were doing anything wrong I think Disney might have been in the process of updating availability for next year which might have impacted your search. I would try again and make sure to check on a few different hotels with
Disney Resorts Collection accommodations to make sure you have a good idea of all available options.
If you all are anything like my family and me, we love the excitement of looking into various resorts, checking on the amenities and doing video walk-throughs of all of them so we can make our pick. It is such an exciting yet challenging experience as each resort has so many great things they offer that are subtly different than the other. One other resource you might want to look into to get the best idea for your resort is our
Pock Guides. These can be quick references you can check to compare resorts and ensure you have the best idea of what to expect. One thing is for sure if you are staying onsite at a Disney Resort Collection hotel, never leaving the Magic is such a big benefit itself and you are sure to have a vacation full of Magically memories!
Best of luck as you continue to move through the planning phase of your trip to the Vacation Kingdom of the World next year! Please stop back and let us know if you have any further questions, we would be happy to help!
Happy Planning,
Nick
