Myself & my 12 Year Old twins are planning a brief 3 night trip in July. We are DVC owners & come to Disney a good bit. Our trip last May was interrupted due to the Death of My Mother in Law. Fun things to do at Contemporary for two 12 year olds?

    Hi Billie Jean,

My sincere condolences on the passing of your mother-in-law. It sounds like you and your twins could certainly use a little extra pixie dust on your next trip, so let's get the ball rolling on the planning!

I am unclear if you are staying at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort or Disney's Contemporary Resort. In either case, these sleek, modern themed Resorts with monorails whizzing by are certainly a big hit with my own tween son and young teenage daughter. Hopefully you score some brownie points with them right off the bat for the great choice of Resort hotel!

One of my kids' favorite things to do outside the Theme Parks is taking a spin in a motorized watercraft across the Seven Seas Lagoon. My kids love traveling across the water bridge connecting Bay Lake with the Seven Seas Lagoon and taking in the unique waterside views of Magic Kingdom from the privacy of our own boat. I simply cannot recommend this enough! The Marina at Disney's Contemporary Resort has a number of boat rental options (our favorites are the Sea Raycers) and don't forget to ask about your Disney Vacation Club discount!

In the evening, your kids may enjoy a trip to Top of the World Lounge, an upscale lounge perched atop Bay Lake Tower with sweeping views of Magic Kingdom which provides a perfect vantage point for watching the nightly fireworks. Access to the lounge is reserved exclusively for Disney Vacation Club members and their guests.

Wishing you a wonderful upcoming Disney vacation with your kids!
