Hi there, Jessie! We are so happy you brought your question to us here at planDisney. I know many Guests are still making their way back to the magic, so you are in good company. Let's dig into your question so that you can get all your Disneyland ducks in a row ahead of your holiday trip in a few months!
I did a little digging, and you are correct that the expiration date was extended for the 2020 Canadian Resident Tickets. According to the most current "
Modifications and Cancellations", they are set to expire on December 15th, 2022, or within 13 days of first use, whichever occurs first. With just a few days between the expiration and your planned trip, I can completely understand just wanting to inch that expiration a few extra days! In my experience, expiration dates are not flexible and there have not been additional accommodations made for 2020 tickets beyond the extensions already given. What I can tell you is that in most cases, the magic in those tickets never fully burns out! The value of a
wholly unused, expired theme park ticket can usually be put towards the purchase of a brand-new ticket of equal or higher value. Your next step will be to call our Cast Members in
Guest Services at (714) 781-4636 to discuss your options. They will be happy to be your very own Jiminy Cricket and guide you through the process of getting your new tickets all squared away!
I recommend starting this process early as the holidays are a popular time of year at the Happiest Place on Earth! As part of the return to the magic, all Guests are required to have a
theme park reservation in addition to a theme park ticket. The ticket gets you through those Main Entrance Gates, while the reservation helps Mickey and Minnie know how many people to expect in the park each day. This measure was put in place to maintain the health and safety of Guests and Cast Members alike so the magic is alive and well at the Disneyland Resort! Reservations for that week before Christmas will likely fill up quickly, so it's great that you are already making your plans!
Once you have your new tickets ready to go and they are linked to your account, you will be able to make those reservations directly on the
Disneyland website or through the
Disneyland Mobile App. On the website, head to the "Parks & Tickets" tab on the top navigation bar and select "Theme Park Tickets & Reservations" from the drop-down menu. You'll see the button to "Make Park Reservations". Simply tap in there and follow the prompts. If tickets for your full party are linked to your account, you will be able to make reservations for everyone at one time. You'll note that you will need to choose which park you will be visiting each day. If you have Park Hoppers, you will select the park where you will start your day with hopping available after 1 p.m.
Jessie, I hope this paved the way back to the magic! If you have any more questions, please feel free to reach out to us here at
planDisney. We are always here for you!
Be merry!
Tara
