DH, DS5 and myself will be staying at AKL for 8n/8d. We are leaving within a couple weeks and are super excited (first timers coming from CA). Question: How much spending $ should we bring? Cash? Travelers checks? We have the deluxe dining plan. Thx!

Hi Shelley - how exciting!  I stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge with my family and absolutely loved it!  I hope your family enjoys it also.

We typically charge all of our expenses to our room and pay with a credit card.  I'd recommend doing that if you can, because it makes things really easy.  As for spending money, it really depends upon what you want to do.  Since you are on the deluxe plan, I can't imagine you'd have too many out of pocket food expenses beyond gratuity and alcoholic beverages.  Some other activities, such as the water sports, cost additional money, as do souvenirs.

You should carry some cash, if you want to tip the bell staff, mousekeeping, and for the very few food carts in the parks that only take cash.  Travelers checks would only be needed if you don't want to use a credit card.

    Have a great vacation!
