myself, my husband,my daughter and 4 year old grandson are planning to go to disneyworld for thanksgiving of 2013. when is the best time to start making reservations?

    Hi there, Chrissy!

There are a few key numbers you'll want to be aware of as you plan your trip.

First, there's your Resort hotel. That can be booked up to 599 days out. The earlier you start booking, the likelier you are to have your choice of Resorts, as holiday time can be pretty busy. You will know that your preferred Resort hotel room is locked in. But don't worry: if any special rates or promotions are rolled out, you can call the Walt Disney Travel Company at (407) W-DISNEY and make adjustments.

You can also order your Magic Your Way tickets at that time.

The other critical number is 180. Reservations for Disney Dining can be made up to 180 days before your arrival date. If you have special dining favorites or "must-try" restaurants, it's really important to hit that 180-day mark to ensure you get as many of your wishes fulfilled as possible.

In a roundabout way, the advice I'd offer is to book sooner rather than later. This way, your first choices are sewn up, and you have plenty of lee time to play around with your requests. Again, until 45 days out, you can make changes to your Resort reservation without penalty. Please be advised that many restaurants do have cancellation policies; you'll want to be aware of these in advance to prevent any kind of penalty.

If there is anything else I can help you with, please feel free to let me know!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
