We have been to WDW many times during the first week of December including with extended family. Everyone enjoys the special festivities, especially
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP). We bring our Mickey or Minnie Santa hats that we purchased many years ago and don them every time we go to this event. We even got Grandma decked out in a hat!
The least crowded night we ever had was on a Tuesday night. I’ve heard from friends that go that week that they’ve had success on Thursday nights as well. Remember tickets go on sale May 1!
Although the official party time starts at 7 p.m., we’ve always been admitted any time after 4 p.m. with only our MVMCP tickets in hand.
To view the first parade, you’ll need to secure your seats much earlier than if you were watching the second parade. I would suggest getting your spot about one hour in advance. Much longer if you really want to see it from Main Street.
The first time we ever watched the parade was from Liberty Square where we parked ourselves on the street in front of the Hall of Presidents. This was an excellent view to see the parade as it rounded the corner from Frontierland. We were then able to walk to Main Street once the crowds dispersed and enjoy the “snow” falling. Our son was dancing, singing and catching snowflakes.
Your sons are at a wonderful age to really delight in the magic of Walt Disney World. Enjoy!
