It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Lisa!
A trip to Walt Disney World Resort this fall sounds pretty perfect to me! If you asked five of our
Panelists about their favorite time of year to visit, you would probably get five different answers because everyone I know has their preferences about what seasonal events they want to enjoy and what kind of weather they want to experience. For me, November and December are absolutely ideal. I plan my big family trip every year around that time so I think it's a great idea for you to do the same!
One thing you need to keep in mind when you're planning in the late fall is Thanksgiving weekend. It is a major public holiday in the United States and one of the most popular times of the year for guests to visit Walt Disney World Resort. This year, Thanksgiving Day is on November 26 so the first few days of your vacation will likely be quite a bit busier than the last 10 or 12 days. The weeks
after Thanksgiving are probably my personal favorite weeks of the year to visit because the weather is usually mild and clear and the crowds have thinned out a bit and usually stay that way until the week before Christmas, so I think you've planned your timing just right. While I wouldn't necessarily say that the wait times for attractions are reduced significantly, I like this time of year because the lines are typically a little bit shorter than the summer and other busier weeks. Make sure to take advantage of
FastPass+ so you can skip the standby lines for your favorite attractions!
There are lots of reasons to visit in the late autumn but the best part has to be that the festive decorations are up and the
holiday celebrations are well underway. Your
Resort Hotel will have a Christmas tree and themed holiday decorations, and
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will be in full swing at
Magic Kingdom Park! Walt Disney World Resort is magical every single day of the year, but there really is an extra layer of pixie dust sprinkled around the holiday season.
Have a magical day, Lisa!
