Myself my daughter age 14 and son age 13 are going to Disneyland in September. Wondering what the weather will be like for water sports and what we can do that suits a boy and a girl together. Are all the activities at an extra cost?

    Hi, Andrea!

September is a great time to visit The Happiest Place on Earth. Not only are crowds lighter (especially on weekdays), but hotel prices are often lower as well. It should be easy to experience most of your “must-do” attractions, shows and meals due to smaller queues and fewer Guests visiting the parks. The high temperatures in Anaheim in September are typically in the low- to mid-80s, with evenings in the mid-60s, and the pools at all three Disneyland Resort Hotels are heated for your comfort. Your kids will love the themed water slides at each hotel!

The best advice I can give you for visiting the theme parks is to have a touring plan in mind before you arrive. Make time for everyone to look at the Disneyland Resort website, particularly the attractions list, together. See what each park has to offer and let your kids create wish lists. You may find that there’s more overlap in their interests than you anticipated, and it’s a great way to get a jump on the planning and excitement. Most importantly, each child will feel like his or her desires were worked into the family’s schedule, which will make for smoother days in the parks. Nearly everything offered in the theme parks—from attractions, to shows, to parades, to character meet and greet opportunities—is included with the cost of your admission ticket.

I hope this helps, Andrea. Feel free to ask me any other questions you may have as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted vacation!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
