MWe managed to get the free dining plan applied to our trip. But our two year old will not be getting it because he doesn’t even require a ticket to get into parks. Can he eat dinners for free based on age and we convert our snacks to lunch for him?

    Hi Danielle,

Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  Congratulations on receiving the Free Dining Special Offer, it can be such a great deal!

Since your our son is only 2 years old, he will not require a ticket and he will not be included in the Dining Plan either.  What this means is that he will be allowed to eat from your plate at Table-Service or Quick-Service Dining Locations, but if you would like to select something different for him, you will need to pay for his meals separately.  If you are at a buffet, he will be allowed to eat from the buffet at no additional cost.

When my daughter was younger, I found that what worked for us was to share an adult meal and then use a snack to make sure we both had enough to eat.  The meals are typically larger portions so I never felt like we didn’t have enough to eat.  Sometimes, for us, it was just easier to purchase an extra kids meal, so that we both had a meal we were happy with.

I hope you have a fabulous time at Walt Disney World Resort, Danielle.  Please let us know if you have any other questions, we are always happy to help.
