We are going to the MVMCP on Friday, December 18. Could you please tell me if all of the rides will be open, as well as all of the quick service restaurants?

Hello, Susan! I'm so happy that you are going to attend my favorite Walt Disney World special event, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. I love being able to watch the lighting of the Dream Lights on Cinderella Castle, and the light snow falling on Main Street U.S.A. It's the perfect backdrop for a holiday card picture! I usually have a PhotoPass photographer take the photo and will have Christmas cards made at home to send to family.

In my experience, most if not all of the Magic Kingdom attraction remain open for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. The best part is that because only a limited number of special event tickets are sold, attractions will have little to no wait. Last year I was able to walk on to many popular attractions during the Christmas party. I think the longest I had to wait was 30 minutes for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which is still not bad compared to an average wait time for this attraction on a regular day.

Once the Christmas party dates get closer more details will be released, so stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for updates on restaurants, characters, and time information. Usually many Quick Service restaurants remain open throughout the party. Here are a few that I remember seeing open last year:

*Casey's Corner, Main Street Bakery, Sleepy Hollow, Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, Gaston's Tavern, Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe, The Lunching Pad, and Storybook Treats.

Some restaurants close earlier than the park does, but usually closing times are listed on the special event guide maps, so when that information is released you should know exactly what will be open and what time it will close. My favorite spot to grab a late night snack is Sleepy Hollow. I adore the Nutella and fruit waffle, I highly suggest it!

If you have any other questions we'd be more than happy to help in any way that we can. Have a magical holiday vacation!
