Where is muster station J on Disney Dream? Trying to figure out the best way to get from there to the sail away party.

    Ahoy there, Melissa!

I like your style. Ensuring your safety and that of all of the passengers aboard your cruise ship is certainly the top priority. But kicking off a magical Disney cruise vacation with the Sailing Away Deck Party is pretty high up there on the list of priorities!

Before your Disney cruise vacation officially begins, every passenger on board gathers for the mandatory assembly drill at their respective muster stations. Muster stations are generally located on deck four. In some cases, especially on the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny, some muster stations may also be located on deck 3 and deck 5. The muster station for a given stateroom is usually located near the same position on the muster station deck as it is found on the stateroom deck. On the Disney Dream, assembly station J can be found outside on deck 4. It is on the starboard side of the ship, roughly between the doors that lead toward the midship elevators and the doors that lead toward the forward elevators.

Usually, passengers on your ship will be spread throughout many different locations, allowing you to move about the ship with relative ease. However, after the assembly drill, everyone aboard the ship will be basically in the same place. Since a large portion of the passengers will likely have the same plan as you, to head up to deck 11 or deck 12 to enjoy the Sailing Away Deck Party, you should mentally prepare for a little congestion. It is usually faster to take the stairs if you are comfortable doing so. If you must take an elevator, the closest options will be the midship or forward elevators. There are more elevators in the midship. But there may be more passengers vying for access to them. While situations may vary from cruise to cruise, I would normally expect the forward elevators (or forward stairs) to be less congested compared to midship following the assembly drill.

The enthusiasm leading up to your Sailing Away Deck Party will be nearly palpable. The party helps set the stage for a most magical adventure aboard the Disney Dream. You likely won't want to miss other deck parties and onboard activities available throughout your cruise. To find out when and where you can enjoy each one, just keep an eye on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.

    Bon voyage, Melissa!
